Craig Lloyd – Managing Principal

Behind the Client Services and the Candidate Services provided by LaundryCareers.com, is someone who maintains a good grasp of the laundry industry while understanding both sides of its employer – employee relationships.

Craig Lloyd’s degree in Industrial Relations from Rider University taught him labor law, labor relations and human resources. When Craig moved to Atlanta he joined one of the largest recruiting firms in the southeast, the Bell Oaks Company.  He was named “Personnel Consultant of the Year” within the Georgia Association of Personnel Consultants and earned his national Certified Personnel Certification.  After eight years Craig moved to the corporate side of recruitment , serving seven years as the Director of Salesforce Development for an Ohio-based Fortune 500 distributor of specialty MRO supplies.

In 1996, after joining the Society for Human Resource Management, he was contacted by the President of the Atlanta chapter who also happened to be the VPHR for the National Linen and Uniform Service.  They needed someone to head up management recruitment for their 70 plants.  “I’m your guy!” he said.

But Craig’s best career decision came three years later, electing to start LaundryCareers.com, partly because he saw a need to provide proactive management search for our industry, and partly because he always wanted to own a dot.com company.

Besides writing a monthly column for Laundry Today (“Recruiter’s Corner”) as well as articles for Textile Rental, Craig looks for ways to give back to the industry.  Routinely travelling at his own expense he attends TRSA’s HR committee meetings, the annual March on Washington, and the annual conferences for IAHTM, NELA and MTSA.

One can never know enough about our industry.  Craig graduated TRSA’s three year Production Management Institute (PMI) program and attends every Clean Show, Tech Summit and Healthcare Conference possible.  Every year he visits over 20 laundry plants throughout the country, reinforcing his industry perspective by meeting with production, maintenance and service management staff.

Since 1998 clients have come to rely on Craig’s ability to listen and understand the underlying issues requiring a management search; likewise, hundreds of management candidates know they can call Craig day or evening for confidential career advice.   In both arenas, there is never a question of maintaining confidentiality.

“An external recruiter succeeds by using proactive skills and creative instincts to find talent.  A corporate recruiter succeeds by recognizing the company culture fit. Craig has the very distinct advantage of blending both.”
